If you're not up for dining in, downtown Kansas City (and its delectable barbecue) is about 10 miles south. Visitors have their pick from Journey wood-fired steakhouse, a deli, a Mediterranean-themed buffet, a craft beer house, a taco eatery and a coffee shop.
Dining was also a mixed bag among guests, but options are nonetheless abundant. Outside your digs, you'll find a spa and a 24-hour gym. Accommodations, which come equipped with 42-inch flat-screen TVs, rainfall showerheads and pillow-top beds, were described as comfortable by some, while others said the rooms could benefit from a renovation. Some lodgers lamented the fact that there is no pool on-site, especially since the Kansas City, Missouri, area can reach sweltering temperatures during the summer. While some past lodgers reported impeccable rooms, excellent service and top-notch amenities, others were less impressed.
The Argosy Casino Hotel & Spa received mixed reviews among recent travelers.
